Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I visit the dentist?
As often as you like! Seriously though, Dr. Danny Nguyen and Dr. Cindy Hua agree with the American Dental Association: patients of all ages should visit the dentist at least twice a year for a dental cleaning and oral exam. This will allow our team to clean your teeth in a way you simply can’t at home, and it’ll also let us catch dental issues early and treat them before they can become real problems.
I think I have a cavity. What should I do?
If one of your teeth is feeling more sensitive lately or has dark spots on it, you should try to make an appointment with us as soon as you can. Unfortunately, cavities only tend to get worse over time, and the sooner we treat it, the easier it will be. If you wait too long, your tooth may need to undergo a root canal, or we may have to extract it completely. We’d much rather give you a small filling, so be sure to come see us!
One of my teeth is broken. Can you help me?
Yes we can! We have a variety of restorative treatments that can fix this exact issue. For most cases, we’ll probably use a dental crown. This is a tooth-shaped restoration that will simply slide over your broken tooth, and it’ll help it look and feel normal once again.
Some of my teeth are missing. Can you replace them?
We actually have a few different ways we can do this depending on your amount of tooth loss. If you are only missing a few teeth, we can use a dental bridge or partial denture to fill in the gaps. For an entire row of missing teeth, we can make you a natural-looking full denture. However, for a more permanent solution, we may suggest that you get dental implants. This treatment restores your teeth both above AND below the gum line, and they provide more secure, longer-lasting, and much better looking results than any other tooth replacement option.
Can you make my teeth look whiter?
Yes! We actually have two ways for you to whiten your teeth, and no matter which option you choose, you’re guaranteed to get better results than with anything you can buy at the store. We can give you a custom-made take home kit so you can gradually whiten your smile, or we can offer a complete treatment in-office that only takes an hour. Both services will dramatically whiten your smile, so it’s really just up to your preference.
I just knocked out one of my teeth! What should I do?
First, try to find the tooth, pick it up only by the crown, rinse it off, and then call Eco Dental immediately. We’re well equipped to handle this kind of dental emergency, and the sooner you see us, the more likely we’ll be able to put your tooth back. Also, try to place the tooth back into your mouth, and if you can’t, put it in a container of milk. It’s vital that your tooth stay wet until you make it to our office.
Will you take my insurance?
Currently, both of our locations in Sugar Land and Pearland are in-network with Aetna, take all PPO plans, Medicaid, and CHIP as well. In addition, our Sugar Land practice is also in-network with Cigna.
